Light Trails

Taken from a bridge which crosses the M1 near Hardwick Hall.
Why is it that, standing between the railings and the crash barriers in the dark, with a tripod, photographing the traffic (having parked the car in a field entrance) I felt I was doing something ever so slightly wrong?
I'm pleased with the result though.
