Pottering About
A long overdue hook up with Toots - our intention had been to meet up at Summerhall but she had a much better idea, so soon we were goin’ up the country instead. And why not - it was a lovely day and word was that Donald and Ronnie were firing up a pottery kiln out at Tantallon Studios.
What a terrific place - a garden full of sculptures, and bowls of soup for lunch. I was so taken I even bought three wee craws on a piece of wood. Thanks Toots!
Home to spruce up, for we had visitors - Rex and Mrs Rex arrived to snap up our spare tickets for the BBC Comedy Awards final - as entertaining a show as ever, with Mark Watson as compere. And Janine Harouni won the perspex award, though I’d have given it to Josh Jones, personally. Oooerrrr indeed.
Onwards we foursome did go, via the Bow to another equally old Embra institution, Howie’s, where we were encouraged to try something called haggis. We weren’t taken in.
Home, and given that the SK had spent hours cleaning the place, we insisted our visitors better come in for a snifter, otherwise her efforts would have been somewhat pointless. Then I realised the light level afforded by the candles was so low they wouldn’t have seen the dust anyway! Mind you, by the time Rex finished his drink the morning sun was threatening to shed light on the place, so phew, well done lass!
