What a noise!
This fisherwife obviously doesn't like the sound of the bagpipes.
This cartoon map of Scotland is among serious 'real' maps of places throughout the world which is on show at the National Library of Scotland. They have an interesting exhibition of 200 years of mapmaking by Bartholomew and Son. It illustrates the complex process to produce accurate detailed maps and the high level of skill requiring 7 years training for the colourists, printers, draughtsmen and engravers who had to do such things as drawing and writing tiny text upside down and back to front for the plates. Now these skills are no longer required as maps are easily made using technology such as satellite imaging and GPS.
