Swallowtail

These huge Woolly Thistles were hosting a pollen fest for so many insects including this Swallowtail and numerous bumblebees (see extra for the upper-wings). This was right at the end of an already productive walk where we had seen: distant chamois, marmots, 5 different birds of prey and magnificent views of course. Extra shows upper-wings of this large and beautiful butterfly, the first and maybe the last, I shall see this year.
