Lords and Ladies ( Arum maculatum) has many local names ranging from Cuckoo pint, Jack in the pulpit, Devils and angels, Red hot poker, Snakes meat and many more several of which tend to be rather bawdy.

Whatever you call it, it makes a bright and cheerful sight on a day when it looks as though the light to medium rain will continue for 24 hours.
