George Heriot School

Down in the city of Edinburgh over Hogmanay - quite a treat! This evening we walked across through the city, enjoying the Christmas market and the fairground rides, all the sights and sounds of the festive season. Incredibly busy, especially compared to the peace and quiet we'd left behind in Orkney!

With the use of printed out maps and our trusty A to Z, we successfully navigated our way across the city, passing this wonderful looking building, lit up like a Christmas lantern. With great excitement we arrived at the Dower House where we were wonderfully entertained and fed marvellously by the Lord and Lady! It was a super evening, with lots of laughter and catching up. Eventually, sadly, we look our leave and headed back across the city, through the now thronging crowds pouring into Princes Street for the celebrations.

Blip has enabled us to become friends and get to know each other, and for that alone it is well worth the annual subscription! Thanks all of you at HQ and happy new year to you!
