Routin Brig

We arrived home in the early hours of this morning and fell gratefully into bed. Thankfully I'm not back at work until tomorrow so could have a lie-in before getting stuck into unpacking the van and doing a food shop. It helped that the weather was wet so I wasn't tempted into the garden.

Everywhere the vegetation looks very lush and green. There has been a lot of rain while we were away. I walked up to the waterfall at Routin Brig which was quite full. It's a popular spot for memorials as you can see on the left, where several have been left around the tree. The trouble with these is that the flowers rot away and leave the plastic behind, and nobody likes to remove it out of respect.

The place has many associations, happy and not-so-happy, as in this account. Many people are drawn to it, whether to walk their dog, park up to eat their takeaway, or just to enjoy the beauty of the water.
