Goldfinch

Only one brief moment for a blip today and this is it!

It's been p...ersistently raining for most of the day but I've been holding out hope for a moonrise shot this evening. However, the weather gods have different ideas and the clouds have filled in again.

There is a family of Goldfinches that have been raised in the lane and I often see them as I walk the dogs, chattering down at us from the high twigs in the hedgerows.
They appeared, at the top of a dying elm tree in my neighbour's garden, this afternoon and I took a couple of shots from our elevated deck.
This is a very small crop but sadly, is my only offering today.
