First autumnal colours

Today is the birthday of our friends daughter.  She is eleven and was happily opening her birthday presents this morning.  Unfortunately its been raining all morning but she wasn't too concerned as they were all off to do some tree climbing at Go Ape in the afternoon.  They were then settling off on the journey back home as its results day tomorrow for her eldest son.  It has been lovely having them round and surprising just how much the two youngest have changed in a year, especially their son.

We have had a quiet afternoon and I am glad to say my back is recovering well, fingers crossed.

I chose this wet maple leaf growing in the garden for todays blip as the autumnal colours are beginning to show.
