Wrecked hedge ......,

........ up until a few days ago we had a nice hawthorn hedge, which the birds loved to hide in, particularly the blackbirds and sparrows. It had got a bit high and therefore difficult to trim the top. We got someone in and asked them to take a foot off the top. He has made a terrible mess of it, I know it will grow but there is nothing to stop all the seeds from the thistles and dock and other stuff from the set aside as it’s taller than the hedge. Every morning when I opened my back door the blackbirds would come for their currants ; there were none waiting this morning.
