My first full day in Edinburgh and we had a busy programme of events. I met up with friend R in Charlotte Square. We listened to Joanne Harris, Alexander McCall Smith, Neil Oliver and Val McDermid, who were appearing at the book festival. And we also went to a performance by the Edinburgh renaissance Band. A great day.
