Munich Residence

Another bust plan! We met up with Elke and Veros and fancied touring the Bavaria film studios but when the queue was moving at a snail's pace and we heard one guy (still a ways away from the front) saying he'd been there an hour already we cut our losses. Instead we got the U-bahn into the city centre, grabbed lunch in a beer hall, then headed to the Residence for a tour around some of the 114 rooms open to the public. It's a big place! In the end the 'short tour' of an hour and a half was plenty. I think this was my favourite room, the Antiquarium, built c.1600. It's a 66 metre long banquet room obviously!
