First Morday

Seeing as this was my first Monday Off during the Festival I took myself off up the High Street to see what was up. Started by walking over from Abbey Mount then down to Holyrood and then up the High St and noticed that almost every shop of any size has been converted to sell ‘Tartan Tat’. Continued up the street till the road was closed for traffic at Jeffrey St where I was aware of this violinist and her Loop Pedal Box which she used to great effect to create her versions of popular tunes like Sting’s ‘An Englishman In New York’ and Cold Play’s ‘Viva la Vida’ and ‘Yellow’ I think she from Eastern Europe as I’m sure that was the accent she had when she thanked me for dropping a couple of quid in her violin case. She was watched by maybe 30 – 40 folk which was way more than the attendance of the Stand Up show I saw this morning. Maybe stand up comedy is not meant to performed before the sun is over the yard arm. Oh and it didn’t rain today.
