Flood, what flood?
Iain and I set off to walk part of the Clyde Walkway today, setting off from Bothwell Bridge in the direction of New Lanark. We were stopped rather abruptly within the first few minutes by a flooded path, so returned to our car and decided to start our walk at one end of Strathclyde Park and walk to Chatelherault Country Park instead. That was ok until we got to the end of the park and tried to continue our path along the Clyde onto the banks of the Avon, where we found two possible routes were flooded. The Clyde was about 6 feet above its usual level and very fast flowing. I guess we should have expected that after yesterday’s rain. So we ended up back at Strathclyde Park! Not quite the walk we intended, but good fun anyhow .
