An interesting find

Found this "tool" in the aladdin's cave that is my father-in-law's garage. I haven't called it a pocket knife as it seems to be that the metal spike is the primary tool.

Obviously not been used in a very long time and needing some oil and elbow grease to get the blades open.

I wonder if the spike is for making holes in leather? If anybody knows the original purpose I'd be really interested to know...
