Another Big Dog!

I met up with Colourful Mai for lunch in the village. Oscar was very well behaved and got dog treats from me and the waitress! He also got attacked by a dog who obviously didn't like the look of him! He was recovering from an op so was feeling out of sorts apparently - should have been on a lead said the waitress!
As we were finishing our meal of Homity Pie and salad Brummie Girl came by so we had a lovely catch up with her too! We all then went to The LimeKiln gallery - big mistake - saw a silver bangle and bought it! Well I had to mark the day of finally feeling ok to meet up for lunch didn't I!
I went home via the river and up through the woods - thought Oscar deserved a good walk for being so good! Unfortunatly met another dog who after sniffing him nose to nose decided he didn't like what he sniffed and went for him! I can understand when dogs get angsty because Oscar sniffs their butt, tries to mount them or is generally boisterous in his attempts to play with them, but when he is just there and being calm I just don't get it! It's why I always keep him on a lead so I can deter the other behaviours and avoid him rushing up to play with them before I can suss out if they are going to be friendly back! I know sometimes being on a lead causes problems with dogs - but when the other dog is off lead and Oscar is on lead I'm a little non-plussed - unless he is giving off wrong signals due to the lead? Whatever - I'm not  going to risk him being off lead just yet!
Come the eve I picked my gladioli and gathered up the shallots drying in my falling down plastic greenhouse. With the bad weather forecast I decided it best to rescue what I could! I did try and tie down what remains of the broken greenhouse - just to give the tomatoes some coverage from the expected wind.
I found Greta sheltering under the coop again so popped her in the nesting area with Izzy - she is still eating but still looks very poorly.
