Back On Home Turf
Having missed the first home game of the season on Tuesday as we were still returning from holiday, this afternoon saw Chris & I back on the home terrace for the first time for the game against Stockport County.
The blip shows Yeovil's goalkeeper, Stuart Nelson, celebrating our opening goal ( I missed his more exuberant celebrations amidst all the excitement).
Like on Tuesday, having taken the lead we defended stoutly for the rest of the game, but unlike Tuesday, we couldn't hang on to the lead, conceding an equaliser in the 87th minute. A draw was probably a fair result but it was a reasonable performance for us - we just needed to be more clinical in taking our chances. As our new manager, Darren Sarll said, we could do with one or two experienced reinforcements in midfield and up front but we seem to have the makings of a decent side.
This morning, Tess & I were on a different type of familiar turf, doing our first park run for four weeks. We were also pleased to record reasonable times in the blustery conditions. We even managed a swim in the outdoor pool afterwards.
