Fury & Flowers

Had a me day today and took the short train journey from Chester to Liverpool to take in some art and culture. First stop was the Contemporary Art Centre to view a collection of photographic portraits from the collection that had been curated by sixteen-year-olds. Across the plaza was The John & Yoko exhibition at the Museum of Liverpool with artefacts, lyric sheets, clothes, musical instruments and multi-media presentations detailing their time together (and apart). Next was pop artist Keith Haring's exhibition at the Tate. Even if you don't know his work you will have seen it or other work influenced by it. Finally I booked a tour of Hardman House, home to former portraiture and landscape photographer Edward Chambré Hardman. A Chinatown late lunch was my reward for a long and enjoyable day on my feet.

The picture shows Billy Fury's statue located on The Albert Dock. Billy once worked as a deck hand on a Mersey tug boat and it would have docked nearby. Someone has added a nice floral touch on this warm summer day.
