Costa Rican Cicada

We woke up to a beautiful sunny day and our transportion picked us up early for our 5 hour drive to Manuel Antonio. We made several stops along the way, including a bridge over the Tarcoles Ribver where we saw many Crocodiles swimming or resting under the bridge.....it was very cool. We made rest stopped where I got some photos of butterflies and hummingbirds, but I choose this shot of the Cacada because I had not seen one like this before. Our longest stop was in Jaco for lunch and a wander around town.

We arrived at a lovely Villa overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Manuel Antonio about 4:30. The kids  headed to the pool and were told that the monkeys had just left.....they were bummed that they didn't see them, but we saw a couple of them in the trees below our balcony....none visible enough for a photo. Hopefully they will see them tomorrow.

Tonight we had the most amazing dinner; it was prepared at our villa by a personal chef available from this Resort. We were very impressed by the food so we have hired him for the other nights we will be here. All of us are very excited to see what he comes up with for our next dinners. The experience seem extravagant but it costs less than a meal out with drinks.......he brought in the alcohol we requested and mixers.....plus dinner was relaxed and convenient. We ate outside on our deck which was extremely pleasant. I think tomorrow will be a day at the beach and relaxing at the villa or pool.
