Paintings in the Culloden Hotel, Bangor

Staying here regularly now and there are some interesting paintings throughout the hotel . The main building was the palace of the Bishops of the Church of Ireland and it commands a lovely view out to the Belfast Lough. I quite like this early painting of Bishop Latimer and the Reformers who ended up being burnt at the stake by Bloody Mary and became some of the 40 Martyrs. Religion and politics never far away in Northern Ireland.
