?????
I had a bit of a busy day - walked Oscar in the field with Ivy, home, off to accupuncture and then the allotment. I think it's safe to say the hens were intrigued by the hay roll I bought them from Cotehele! I had fun rolling it down the field to them too! My car boot is a little the worse for it though!
Sadly Greta is looking peaky and very thin, I picked her up and could see she was growing new feathers so have the vain hope this is the cause. I shut her in the run and gave her an egg to boost her! I have a feeling it won't do much good - she is so thin I think she is on her way out.
Sadly Greta wasn't the only thing looking sad on the allotment. My Greenhouse is falling apart! It suffered in the strong winds we had a while ago and every time I go up it's been collapsing a little bit more despite my efforts to make it stand upright. Luckily my tomatoes, peppers, aubergines, cucumbers and small pumpkins have survived each of the collapses! My other squash on the plot have formed a carpet of leaves and I have to pick my way carefully amongst them to harvest the courgettes! Actually I have to pick my way carefully over the whole of my allotment. Having Oscar means I have not got on top of things and it's just wild! Also the weather hasn't helped - it's either been too hot to go up there, walking oscar being done in the morning and evening when it's been cooler, or it's been too wet! Typical English summer! But along with the courgettes I've picked gooseberries and peas and today blackberries. Also some of my gladioli. I must find some time to dig over two beds for my kale, sprouts and kohl rabi - they are taking over my back garden and need putting in the ground!
