Sad day

Harland & Wolff was formed in 1861 by Edward James Harland (1831–95) and Hamburg-born Gustav Wilhelm Wolff (1834–1913, came to the UK from age 14). In 1858 Harland, then general manager, bought the small shipyard on Queen's Island from his employer Robert Hickson.
Amongst the many ships built here was the infamous Titanic.
The Belfast skyline had been dominated by the two huge cranes, Samson (1969) and Goliath (1974)
Goliath stands 96 metres (315 ft) tall, while Samson is taller at 106 metres (348 ft). Goliath, the smaller of the two sits slightly further inland closer to Belfast City.
And today this proud shipyard went into administration.
A sad day for all of us.
