Patterns

I’m doing a participatory photography course this week with PhotoVoice in London. This basically means supporting people to tell their stories through photography, with the emphasis very much on how these can influence change (in attitude, in policy, in public opinion). A very interesting first day, with lots of discussion about whether a photograph in isolation can ever be objective. And who’s truth does it portray? The subject’s, the photographer’s or the viewer’s?

At lunchtime we had a photography treasure hunt exercise... 5 themes (your favourite colour, pattern, portrait, something natural and something other people would overlook). This was one of my patterns.
