Clearance Kirk

This tine , remote church has a sad history, as it is where the local residents sought sanctuary when cleared from their homes and land in 1854, to be replaced by sheep. They stayed in the graveyard, feeling it disrespectful to shelter in the kirk itself. They did, however, scratch their names and some of the story on the window panes, still visible and in the extra.
