Morning Glory

Back to work today, and up fairly early for the journey back round the M25. I was dreading it as major roadworks had appeared at one of the busiest junctions (M25 / M26 interchange) with a "delays expected until Autumn 2014" :(

Soon after leaving Mum's the most glorious sunrise developed, and fortunately I was able to stop safely before joining the A2 trunk road for some quick shots using the compact. The colourful and dramatic skies lasted for the next 30mins or so, bathing the North Downs, along which the motorway runs, with a rosy glow. As for that aforementioned junction: most people were clearly extending their Christmas break and the traffic was very light with no delays. So in the end it was a relaxing and pleasant journey back.
