High tide

One of the tide gauges that is part of the Auckland King Tide Initiative. This has been set up to make people aware of the rising sea levels. King tide is an Antipodean colloquial term for maximum spring tides. The gauge has a mark, slightly underwater here, that shows the average high tide for 2018. The other two higher marks are for the predicted high tide levels in 2120 depending on the level of emissions. Sobering. Entry for Mono Monday's theme of maximum hosted by 60plus.
