A celebration

B - One of our choir members celebrated her Ruby Wedding Anniversary today. There was a special blessing for her and husband A, and many of their family and friends had come to join them. Afterwards they provided cake and fizz so that we could help them to celebrate. The beautiful flowers decorated the church for the occasion. I have to admit to feeling a twinge of sadness as it would have been mine and Joe’s Ruby anniversary in a couple of weeks time, but still, the number of years don’t matter if the marriage was good. Perhaps I will quietly raise a glass on the day, but certainly not the “amber nectar” which he loved as I can’t stand whisky! :-))
