Periwinkles in the rain...

Have always had a fascination with rock pools and can stare at their little eco systems and all that's happened to temporarily land within them for hours on end. As kids we had a point system for netting shrimps, fish, flat fish, star fish and hermit crabs. Dad taught me everything I know and aside going head to head with him (which is always a close call) it's the one sport I can smugly win hands down...

If I ever lived by the sea I think I'd have to swap the soap for a 'Little Rock Pool School'. A lovely beachside boat house with a cafe on the side and stunning restaurant at the back. We'd rent out kayaks and bodyboards and focus on up market guided rock pool sessions for kids and adults teaching them about the coast and all its inhabitants. Maybe we could do super speed boat trips too....

I digress.

Today onwards it's 'Dry January'. I try to do this every January as do most folks who fear they are turning semi alcoholic post festivities to prove they are not and more so give their liver a break! Trying desperately not to swap the vino for chocolate or anything other... we'll see. The proper detox starts Saturday so enjoying the last few days!
