One Crowded Hour

copper pots...

...and here we are in Guiseppina's cooking class in the town of Goult (extra) designated as one of France's beautiful villages.

A and I met G at the Post Office coffee shop and wandered into the market for our ingredients.
Sole from the fish stall, asparagus and strawberries (extras) and what we cooked for lunch was based around what we chose.
How cool is that!
No set menu and lots of new skills to learn...including boning a fish!

G is from Venice and her pantry is a treasure trove of Italian goodies including salamis, bread and Prosecco which we munched on as an aperitif.

And apart from the cooking which was extraordinary and exacting (extra) there was the etiquette of table setting.
Who knew that knives, forks and spoons were traditionally placed upside down (extra) as the family crest was on the underside of the implement.
