Day drive

Took the day to visit my parents at their vacation cabin as they've made the decision to sell it.  Both in their mid 80's it has become too much to maintain and keep up the cabin.  My grandparents bought the 9 acre property on Sheridan Lake and then my parents purchased it from them so it's been in our family for over 50 years.

It's a 3 hour drive from where we live so we had an early start and decided to take the scenic route.  Along the way, we came across the Highland Valley Copper Mine  and stopped to take a few photos.  The body of water is the tailing pond and as I haven't had a chance to research it yet, you can  click on the highlighted link if you're interested in reading about the mine.
