Fort Reasoning Theatre...
My 15th backdated Blip.
How to get photographing (officially) the dress rehearsal of new experimental theatre - pop into your local arts centre, almost daily (Salisbury, in this case) and get to know the bloke on reception (oops, sorry, Box Office Manager) and find out that his theatre group is putting on an experimental new work, that was going to get a world premier.
OK, so it's fun, hard work (chasing round physical theatre actors in their early 20s) and utterly unpredictable - I don't think they knew what was going to happen next, at times! You get to see the Show, hopefully making more sense and wallow in all the luvvliness of it all. Even better is when the representative from the main Arts funders can't make it and you get exchanging emails, he (the head guy) saying how great the shots are and interested in other theatre photography I'd done (I hadn't!).
Then, when the reception bloke leaves, you get invited to his mega leaving do, when all the other folk are employees, old and present of the Arts Centre and you remain Facebook friends to this day. I think his theatre group is on hold as he's now got quite a posh job in Glasgow. It's great when you see the real gems of humanity doing well and having been a small part of that and for me, a real boost, morally - and photographically.
