Heron
D left at the fart of the sparrow. A bit later I made an expedition on the bus(es) out to Corstorphine where Mel had had a new hip inserted on Tuesday. She was already up and walking round with two sticks - looked very well on it. In between buses on the way back called in at John Lewis and found a capacious cool bag - celebrated by defrosting the freezer when I got back.
On my way back down the drive from the hospital I noticed this heron, apparently stalking something amongst the thistles. The birdman of Inchcolm suggests it was after frogs, or even mice. Looked very odd to see it not up to its ankles in the Water of Leith.
