Evacuated

All day we have been keeping up to date with the news bulletins regarding the damaged dam at Whaley bridge which is situated up river from where we are at Furness vale. The police turned up at 15.45 suggesting that we should evacuate, we lifted as much of our machines and equipment off the floor as we could should the the worse happen.

Pottering in the tranquility of my back garden this evening unsure as to what will unfold in the coming hours.

My thoughts and thanks go out to all of the emergency services and workmen and women battling to keep the dam from colapsing and saving the village of Whaley bridge and those that live in the Goyt valley.
