Flags

The WOMAD flags are always a delight, and especially when the evening sun shines through them.

Highlights of today:
Gwenno, who was brought up speaking Cornish and Welsh and one of whose Cornish songs contains these endearing words:
   Eus keus?

   (Is there cheese?

Kraftwerk re:werk - an entire orchestra on stage conducted by Charles Hazlewood. Live makes the music so much more engaging than recorded.

San Salvador - a French group singing in Occitan in close harmony with drums.

Orquesta Akokan - very danceable Cuban big band music.
