St Clement Church Saltfleetby
Driving out to the coast at sunrise for my final day of seal wardening this year, passed this redundant church which over the last few years has been a tea room and a restaurant.
There has been a church on this site since 1225 but this church, built in 1885, was declared redundant in 1973. But still it stands firm on its own as the village has long since moved.
Then guess what the rain came down! Only a handful of seals left waiting for the call of the sea. Hundreds of seals playing on the shoreline but that's about half a mile from the dunes so the remaining pups have a long journey to follow the others to sea.
And still it rains.
