January

January is named after the Roman God 'Janus', Latin name 'Ianuarius'. The origin is the word 'Ianua' meaning 'door', so 'Janus' is the God of the doorway and January is the doorway to the year. I didn't know that - I have just looked it up!! You can tell I was a teacher in a past life!
Ignore my reflection - spot the dog.
