Family and food
Met up with my brother and his partner for lunch and as it was such a lovely day we sat outside. Dropped them at the house and headed into the city centre for a wander round some old familiar haunts.
Mr PHL picked up the tools he needed to replace the broken part in the caravan hitch part, I got welly socks (reduced from 14.99 to 3.00)!! and we took a trip to the top of the Castle to the viewing platform to take in the views. The Castle is currently used as a court house but a new one is being built and there are plans to do many things with the old building. My father once lived there (in the late 30s/early 40s) as his father had a stint as the caretaker.
Wandered into a lovely old second hand bookstore - Leakeys - couldn’t figure out the filing system though so came away empty handed.
Met my brother and my two nieces and my nephew-in-law (is that a thing?) for tea in an Invernessian institution, the Castle restaurant for a final meal as it’s closing down at the weekend after decades in business. Both girls worked there as students so it’s a favourite place. Good home cooked foods and the crinkle cut chips are heavenly.
Planning a trip to see the dolphins tomorrow.
