Oban

A list minute decision brought the first stop on our whisky tour to Oban.  What a lovely little distillery!  Magic Mike gave a great tour.  Then a fantastic sunny late afternoon drive down to  Campbeltown for dinner.  Working the gear shift on the left takes some getting used to, but I absolutely adore the small country lanes and scenery.  Always a left hand - right hand check everytime before starting off and away I go!

Ermanno and I stopped by the cottage Achnafad, where we stayed a night about six years ago when we missed the ferry to Islay from the Kennecraig port.  John and Anne are still about but will be leaving the house in a week to down size in the older years.  Even though we only spent one night at their house six years ago they insisted we join them and their friends for a drink. Such lovely people. John had cancer last year but seems to be in good shape now and very quick wit.  I think Anne is starting with Alzheimers... Lots of hugs and kind words before leaving and I feel very lucky to have found them before moving.  slante!

Probably more than you wanted to know, but just to say I love Scotland for so many reasons.
