The Abyss of Tofana
Taken from the summit of Mount Tofana in The Dolomites....3244m high and really feeling the altitude! The " abyss" is actually what looks like the bright turquoise patch of ice near the foreground. It's actually a well that no explorers or scientists have ever got to the bottom of as even when not frozen at the surface it becomes a core of ice that goes on and on beneath the rock. Amazing views from all around the summit, despite dodging fast moving clouds and incoming storms whilst holding onto the via ferrata cables! This wasn't unnecessarily the most impressive view...but the one I liked the best !
