Alberobello

The city of the Trulli.

I first visited many years ago. It was unspoilt and quiet.

I went back more recently, on an excursion from a cruise. It was packed and touristy and I was so upset.

We visited quite early this morning, before the crowds arrived. We started with the beautifully preserved half of the town. It reassured me and I fell in love all over again. Then we crossed the road to the more touristy part, with souvenir shops and restaurants. They serve a lovely granita.

We headed off to Locorotondo for a relatively brief visit. It’s so beautiful. (Extra)
