Arbutus

I visited four lovely gardens in the village this afternoon, a fund raising project for breast cancer research. The gardens were all looking their best and full of colour. In the first garden, belonging to our WI president was this magnificent tree, an arbutus. The garden was designed around the tree and was beautifully maintained and full of unusual plants. The other three gardens were also interesting and very different. At the last one we had tea and cake and sat for a long while in the warm sun. It was a happy way to raise money for a good cause.
