Sunset at Newcastle

We arrived in Newcastle, north of Sydney yesterday for 2 nights. It is just a big industrial coal town but the beachfront is lovely, like an old fashioned English resort with a lovely art deco frontage to a large seawater pool.
We sat there at sunset and it made me nostalgic for childhood holidays with my 2 brothers and sister, wheeling the youngest in the pram, going back with Mum to make Angel Delight, fish and chips a rare treat, digging in the sand, dad sea fishing, flying a kite and all the simple pleasures.
