Singing for his supper

This beautiful Red wattle bird wasn’t afraid of Abe and me sitting close by as s/he chatted away on a tree.

I didn’t realise they were part of the Honeyeater family.

Once Nikau was inside for the night, they became very brave and we’re swooping nearby, snacking on the plentiful flies zipping around.
