Paddling
Hockey in St Andrews today for daughter.
Normally, I stay and take photos of the action and support the team.
I really didn't feel up to the sidelines chit-chat today, so made my excuses and set off for the beach.
There was a haar holding the entire town in its grip, dulling sound and giving a peculiar light to things.
The air was warm and the town end of the beach was full of dog walkers, families, kite surfers and everything in between.
I took myself away from the action and let the warm wind blow over my face.
Looking back along the beach to the town, the people looked like matchstick Lowry characters. The photos didn't quite catch the essence of the scene though.
I turned at one point to see this elderly lady remove her flipflops and begin to enjoy a paddle.
Today's Blip could well have been a busy Sanderling that I pursued mercilessly for a sequence of images.
It could have been a Painted Lady Butterfly that I managed to capture in a close-up view.
But, this lady and her joie de vivre connected with me.
I would like to think that I will be like her one day.
Obviously, I will wear purple!
