Swinging in the New Year

Despite the snow fall last night, we woke up to the New Year with clear skies and sunshine - a pretty good start! We took a morning trip to the play park with the kids, having to scraping the ice off everything before use. Not that this was a problem for Little D and Miss A, however, as the ice came off in chunks they promptly popped it in their mouths - yuck!

We headed home, kids sound asleep 5 minutes into the journey. To give them a decent kip we decided to detour into South Queensferry and stumbled upon the Loony Dook - hundreds of crazy individuals who take to the freezing waters of the Forth in a range of costumes, to raise money for charity. It was quite a sight to behold and the screams were a mix somewhere between ecstatic and blood curdling.

This evening has also been bliss - kids in bed reasonably early, Rob not far behind them. Just me, a bottle of red and a re-run of Sex in the City. Pure cheese, pure heaven!
