Snowy Owl at Fort Stevens

What an amazing day! I was so excited, and driving into Fort Stevens State Park, here along the northern Oregon coast, I was wondering if the owls would be there for me....THEY WERE! We spent all together a couple hours in parking lot C photographing this creature...right before he flew off, we got the best photos as he turned a bit and you could see his legs and tail better. As far as I'm concerned, this is as good as it gets. What a start to a new year!!!!

We are staying at a wonderful little hotel in Astoria on the water (in the water), and heading out later for a nice dinner in town. Then tomorrow, more birding and photography....ahhhh:))))))))))
