Grey Heron

An early morning walk on the beach ..... it was dry, warm and the tide at just the right place for a bit of bird watching.

If I had been wearing my wellies I could have squelched my way through the seaweed deposited after last night's high tide, to get closer to the heron but it was just a wee bit slippy.  There were some cormorants on the rocks taking up their characteristic stance for wing drying but they were just too far away.

Fortunately the heron was a bit closer and stood very patiently while I fiddled with the camera.

Then it was time to pack up the car and head back to Glasgow driving through the most awful rain.
