Macaneta

Emma and I went to Macaneta beach north of Maputo for the afternoon. During the middle of the Mozambican winter the coastline usually has a warm sun but can have a chilly wind. It was increasingly wild and fresh by late afternoon but it was fun nestling in the dune vegetation and having the breed of wonderful chat we used to in Cambodia.

At Ricky’s birthday party in the evening, the characters were the usual brand of ‘Maputo cool’. The confusion of the wild party I went to in January continues to play out. A great guy I chatted to there, whose name I can’t remember, spotted me and reminisced about the fantastic ‘two-hour’ conversation we’d had, that he said we should we repeat. I checked his WhatsApp profile for assistance over the name.

‘The Singularity’.

Right.
