How to deal with the heat

A method discovered by our garden thermometer to lower the temperature. On closer inspection you will notice that the top of the glass tube is about a centimetre below where it should. This was probably caused by the heat, a bit like overhead power lines on the rail have sagged this week. The consequence of this is that the top of the red line in the thermometer now reads 3˚ or 4˚c less than before :-)
