Morgenstund hat Gold im Mund

You may wonder why I wrote such an unexpected title.
Have you ever noticed that sayings and proverbs or idioms are often extremely different in other languages and that some of them are very much more poetic than others!

I love this particular phrase in German. When it's translated word for word it means:
Morgenstund = Early morning hour
hat Gold im Mund = has gold in its mouth.
So much nicer than "The early bird catches the worm"  

For those of us who are early birds, there is indeed a golden feel at this time of the year when we go out walking.

My morning walk was between 6 and 7 am. The perfect time when the air is still cool.
